MP announces 10-day lockdown in Bhopal : Bhopal Lockdown, Lockdown Imposed in Bhopal, COVID-19, Madhya Pradesh government declares 10-day lockdown in Bhopal from 24 July night

The lockdown will come into effect from 8 pm on Friday and remain in force until 8 am on August 4. Supply of vegetables and milk and essential services will remain open along with industries.

Earlier on Wednesday, a lockdown was imposed in some areas of Bhopal. As of July 21, Bhopal has recorded 4,512 patients, including 142 who died. Since June 1, as many as 1,723 fresh cases have been added in Bhopal.

Medical services, government ration shops will remain open during the period. Movement outside the city will remain prohibited. E-passes will have to be procured for any movement.

The lockdown will come into effect from 8 pm on Friday and remain in force until 8 am on August 4. Supply of vegetables and milk and essential services will remain open along with industries.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the average positivity rate in Bhopal in the last seven days was 10.23 per cent which required the government to intervene. He further appealed people to follow the guidelines to ensure that the spread of the infection is contained.

With 770 deaths, the fatality rate in Gwalior is 0.5 per cent. There are currently 706 active patients and as many as 1083 have recovered so far. Meanwhile, with 747 cases the total count in the state increased to 24842. Bhopal reported 157 cases in the last 24 hours followed by Indore and Gwalior at 114 and 43 respectively.

Bhopal will be under lockdown for 10 days, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narrotam Mishra said today. The decision has been taken in view of coronavirus concerns in the region. The lockdown will come into effect from 8 PM on Friday and go on till August 3.

“In view of prevalence of COVID-19 in Bhopal, a decision has been taken to impose lockdown for 10 days beginning 8 pm on Friday (July 24),” Home Minister Narottam Mishra told reporters this evening.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan tweeted: “During this period, the uninterrupted supply of essential commodities including fruits and vegetables, medicines, milk will continue. I request you to follow all the rules”.
